Superwoman of the weekend

First of all, I'd like to thank this super sweet blogger, Toni from Misings of an Offbeat Biped (she is such a doll and fun!  Check out her blog!) for this cute Follower Award!

So weekend was as amazing as always! I went to New York City again for another Birthday celebration with 2 super sweet friends, I was doing better this time because I know them well, so I could be less awkward.  I was actually grateful that the other girls couldn't make it.  Heheh.. so evil!  I decided to drive to the city this time.  Traffic in the city was so bad with crazy drivers, but since I drove for about 2 years in Jakarta and the condition was 10 times worse, I was so used to curse, honk, cut, and other depressed driver attitudes.  My friends called me SUPERWOMAN.  Hahah..

We got a Junior Suite at Fitzpatrick Grand Central (at 141 East 44th Street).  Everything was so pretty! The room was HUGE, with a feather king size bed, and a mini jacuzzi with a mini TV in there.  A little pricey but it was so WORTH it!

I love our bed!

Then we went to this French restaurant, Matisse (at 924 Second Avenue)

The food was CLOUD 9 to me, here are what we had.  The name was complicated, so I had no name for them, heheh..

Right at 12AM, we did a little celebration with this super delicious cake, a bottle of white wine, and Cheetos!

Can you believe that this girl just turned 30 and she looks AMAZING!  I wonder how I will look when it's my turn

The outfit parade!

I was happy to the MAX!

So what did you do on the weekend? I would LOVE to know! (:

Fascination is appreciated, understanding is an undertaking

My day was LOW KEY!

Explain why?
I didn't know why myself, I was in a really peaceful mood today!  I just wanted to sit there, do my work, listen to my playlist, and smile.  I know I was silly heheh!  But everyone needs a quality time with themselves once in a while, right?  RIGHT?

Read this, it's not another story of my life. I promise (:
Your Magic power.  Your charm
You know you have that person, everything is easier.  Through rainy or stormy days, your fear is gone and you are braver with that person's existence.  When you are discouraged, confused, or in many thoughts, and it seems like nobody understands, that person is the only one that gets you.  When you express how you feel or share your thoughts, you can see so clearly how it effects that person, then you know what you have with that person is so special.  That person is your magic power, your charm.  When you need courage or in sorrow, you just have to think of that person.  Then it becomes so easy to smile again.

Who's on your mind when you read those lines?
That person could be your mom, dad, other family member, lover, spouse, friend, anyone.

I lost mind.  And they are rare.  I'm my own charm now until I meet my next one.

Winner of cards she can't play

My day was a LONG SHOT!

Explain why?
I finally decided to see my new dentist today, one of my fills went off like few months ago.  I had 3 years relationship with my orthodontist before for my braces, and it caused me some kind of trauma (uncountable numbing shots, she forcefully took away 4 of my good teeth, having sprue for months, etc), although the result was worth it, but the experience turns on all my goosebumps.  I thought the damage was not all bad since it had only been few months (the broken fill), but no, my dentist gave me 2 numbing shots.  I turned so pale that it shocked everyone in the room.  My dentist told me to raise my hands up if I happen to feel abnormal and he kept on saying 'you are a very good kid, you are doing a very good job'.  What am I, a 3 years old?  It took him more than an hour to finish because I couldn't help to chock for like every 2 minutes.

I can read this soul's mind:
1. Monsieur
2. My best friend (until he got a girlfriend who hated me), he was really cute last week when he liked a picture of me, he went 'just want to tell you that you are handsome', I pulled a ??? face, then he made me grinned (because I knew what he actually meant) when he said, 'that picture of yours' and he slipped away

This person can read my mind:
1. Monsieur
2. My best friend (until his girlfriend did everything she could to block me out of his life)

Any unusual dental experience to share?

I don't usually post pictures of others (not everyone is comfortable with it, lesson's learned), but I got some of the girls' approval this time

The Birthday girl, I LOVE LOVE her dress!

Her jumpsuit is so cute! She got it from ASOS

I wonder why my eyes are so small in all pictures? Trust me, they are not that small in real life (who am I kidding?) Any make up tips for bigger eyes?

She lives, she loves, she beams

So this lovely lady, Vero from blame it on the boogie (check out her blog, she is so amazingly talented in constructing beautiful jewels!), tagged me few days ago to list 10 things that I love.  It's kind of hard for me since I'm always this greedy girl who has trouble in making up her mind when it comes to prioritizing things, I love too many things, heheh!

So here comes my strange list...
1. The Weather Channel, I have the need to check and browse their website everyday
2. The rain, its smell, and my excitement for stormy weather
3. The color green, but all kind of green vegetables are my enemies, my friends always teased 'how old are you, like 3?' (luckily I love fruit!)
4. Folk (rock) music, my track list ranges from Rachel Yamagata, Katie Herzig, to She and Him
5. Smiling, laughing, and skipping.  At least 60% of my everyday featuring them.  Especially in those worse days, they are my instant cure!
6. My room, my bed.  I got 'bedroom sick' each time I did sleep over at someone else's place, so no matter how late it is, I always prefer to go home
7. Dessert.  I have an extremely sweet tooth.  The dessert section is the first thing I sort through from any restaurant menu
8. Good horror and thriller movies, I'm obsessed, and they cheer me up when I'm feeling down (current obsession: Let Me In)
9. Bad girl gone good Chic Literature books, I can finish each in 2 days, stay awake until sunrise, and thinking about the character for days (current obsession: Darcy Rhone from Something Blue by Emily Giffin)
10. Monsieur's voice, my solace (:

I tag anyone who feels like passing this '10 Things I Love'.

First her then her

My day was thick-skinned.

Explain why?
I felt so relax and light the whole day that I thought office was my home.  I hummed almost the whole day more than a bird.  I skipped around, and around.  I drank a lot of milk that my boss made, even tricked him into mixing his with chocolate.  I went home for lunch for like an hour, my boss told me to 'take my time', though.  I took silly pictures with my colleague when we had nothing to do, at work.  I'm so grateful with my life and for who I am.  I love my life! Any thick-skinned experience lately, girls?

A thought that scares me to death?
Losing all my teeth at once, heheh!  I know it does not make any sense in the possibility of happening, but it creeps me out just by imagining it!  What's yours?

During a conflict:
I usually attack my rival until I'm all right and he/she (mostly he, I'm weak with girls) admits that I win.  What a bad ride.

A melody can totally put me in a sentimental mood.  I do a lot of 'Oh my God, that song is so my life!' then I will memorize the entire lyrics.

The weather was amazingly nice, this picture was untouched!

She skips around the city

According to an article I just read, generally a person is said to be a 'blogger' if he/she makes at least 3-4 posts a week.  I made 2 at most and sometimes only 1 in a week.  I failed terribly to consider myself as a blogger based on that article.  But I love blogging, and writing!

So my New York City weekend was one of the most awkward I could think of, but I still manage to enjoy myself in my little awkward world.  Sometimes I wonder why I'm always having such hard time bonding with girls?  I almost bailed on this 'girls night out' weekend until the birthday girl told me that it's really important to her for me to be there.  Any tips about this issue?

I was actually nervous about all these situations like what I should say when these girls share stories about guys, family, celebrities, or during the 'outfit parade'.  I was afraid I may say something that would hurt their feelings.  So most of the time, I just sat there, nodding and smiling.  Is it weird that I was always the first one that got dressed, fastest at the shower, or using the mirror for make up?

Then they had all these plans about the night club.  I didn't really like the idea at first, being the old fashioned I am.  But I thought why not, it's not like I'm going to die there or something.  It turned out not so bad.  I actually enjoyed watching people getting kicked out for presenting fake IDs, overly dressed girls being hit by overly dressed guy.  I supposed I looked pretty decent because guys that came to me looking pretty decent too, until these 2 guys forced himself to sit with us, then we got stuck with them for the rest of the night.  My friends exchanged phone numbers with some guys but I decided to just leave them with my email address (received 2 emails so far, but no plan on replying).  Any interesting night club story to share?

Enough with my craps, here are some pictures to share.

We had lunch at Junior's across the street from our hotel (Marriott Marquis).  Kudos for their heavenly made cheesecake.

The view from our hotel room at night.  I felt so touristy.  Heheh!

The super M&M store, so colorful and such a candy land!  I could just run around and throw myself among them (luckily I didn't, the security guy was thrice my size).

I really like the cartoon painting on these billboards!

Life is comfortable

My yesterday was a VOLCANO, my today was a FOUNTAIN.

Explain why?
Yesterday: I got sick. My head was spinning, feeling hot and cold all morning.  Then my phone rang.  It was him, waking me up to a realization.  All these times I only cared about myself, how I felt.  What about the part where I caused him many troubles?  Or hurting him with my carelessness?  And he always told me that it was not my fault, and I believed in his words.  My fever got higher with all my thinkings, decided to leave work early.  I wanted to talk to him, I needed to talk to him.  But it was too late, it was unforgivable.  I cried my eyes out until I fell asleep.  Ate a little bit and slept.  Ate another bit and slept. Slept.
Today: I woke up feeling all different.  I felt fine, good.  My fever was gone.  I could actually think clearly.  Maybe he did the right thing, if we did talk again yesterday, we may go back to that painful spot again.  As bad as I felt, I realized I could not turn back time.  I decided to keep on moving and see it as a lesson. I also got all cheered up looking at my wardrobe, fall is here, I'm ready for more layer outfits! And I'll be hanging out the entire weekend in New York City again for my friend's birthday!

I'm too realistic about others' involvement in my life.  I've been so careful my whole life.  To not get too involved with anyone.  I'll always be the one that know what is best for me.  And I'm not proud of it.  I really think that being able to share, to let out our feeling, is a lot better.  He taught me that.

I think people like changes because it's human nature to always have hopes, and people always hope that a change will lead them to a better, happier life.

I also think that pessimistic unhappy people may end up having nothing.  Because dreams only come true with optimistic, happy and positive mind.  And a smile is the secret weapon.  "Smile, no matter how bad it is, it will get better, you will feel better, I promise," like he used to say.
